What does The Molecule Lab check against EU CosING?
Every ingredient and formula lookup is checked against EU CosING using the 6 regulatory datasets listed below, read directly at query time rather than from a cached summary. A substance with no entry in these datasets is reported as not assessed, not as permitted.

Authority
European Commission and each Member State's national authority
Framework
EU Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009
Notification
Before a product reaches the EU market, the Responsible Person notifies it through the CPNP (Cosmetic Product Notification Portal) under Article 13 — including a frame formulation and label text for poison-centre use. A nanomaterial-containing product needs a separate module, filed six months ahead of the standard notification.
Labeling
Article 19 sets the mandatory label content. Ingredients above 1% by weight are listed in descending order of concentration by INCI name (colourants by CI number instead); anything at or below 1% can follow in any order. Fragrance allergens above their threshold must be named individually rather than folded into "parfum."

This list is EU CosING's own datasets, not the complete set of data that can affect a verdict here. Cross-market hazard and assessment data — SVHC, IFRA, REACH Annex XVII, allergens, Prop 65 in the US — can also apply to a formula check without being one of EU CosING's own tables.
